Summer Reading 2018    Libraries Rock!

Registration for our reader’s club starts June 23.

There are 3 groups:

  • Read to me– caregivers reading to children ages 0-5
  • Reading Rocks!– Ages 6-12
  • Teens– ages 13-19

Rock the Library

June 23 from 11-2 Ice cream, balloon twisting, music and fun!

  • Pre-K Story-timeTuesdays at 11 (ages 3-6)
  • Anime Club– Thursdays 4-6 PM (ages 13+)
  • Teen Music Video project– sign up to create a music video! We’ll help you with ideas, equipment and editing. Times will be scheduled for filming, please sign up by July 2nd.

Maker Lab

Wednesdays at 2 (kids ages 5-12Create and play!  3D printer and other maker space items available during this time. Please sign up for labs individually

  • June 27– In 3D!
  • July 11– Slime + concoctions
  • July 18– Coding Robots
  • July 25– Edible Science
  • Aug 1– Animation
  • Aug 8– Hover and fly
  • Aug 15– Volcanoes explode!

Magic Show- June 30, 1 PM Band together with the Wizard of Books!  Magician Ron Cain needs help from kids to put together a wizard band. Ages 4-12. Please sign up.

Rock Party– July 7, 1 PM (ages 4-12) Become a rock star! Put together your “look” and rock the stage with karaoke. Refreshments served.

Rock Star Crafts– July 14, 1 PM (ages 4-8) Create a little punk rock star dude out of a cardboard tube. Please sign up so we know what supplies to get.

Music show Take a Tromp in the Swamp July 21, 1 PM Ages 4-12. Rock along with musician Tom Sieling- be prepared to dance along! Please sign up.

Tang Museum– Thursday July 26 at 2 PM. Make a work of art with the Tang Museum. Please call to sign up. Ages 6-12.

Lego Builders– July 28, 1 PM (ages 6-12) Create a masterpiece with legos, keva blocks or other building toys, or try out Lego animation.

*Slime Time! August 4, 1 PM (ages 5-12) Meet some real slugs, snails and worms! Watch them move and figure out which end of a worm is the front. Author Anita Sanchez  explains why slime is important to these creatures.

*Teen Video Début – August 11, 1 PM. We’ll serve up some popcorn and watch the music videos the teens created.

Finale party-August 18, 1 PM. Only kids who signed up for our reading club can attend this celebration with food, prizes and a book swap.
